Prayer Times in Riyadh
Generally, Muslims pray five times a day and an average prayer session lasts for about 20 minutes.
The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a Muslim nation. So you’ll always find a mosque around every corner of Riyadh. The prayer times of each day will be announced and informed to the public from mosques scattered throughout the city space. The prayer timings are not the same every day, it can differ from a minute or two. It is always advised to keep track of these times daily to avoid any inconvenience. The five main prayer times are called Fajr, Duhr, Asr, Magrib and Isha.
While some nationals prefer going to mosques to pray, the majority will pray in the comfort of their homes, workplace or even in public places. During prayer times almost all the shops around Riyadh will be closed. Lookout for Fridays since it is considered to be a special holy day for the Muslims, and most men will attend mosques to participate in prayers for the afternoon.
The approximate timings (please note these are approximate timings) for the six main prayer sessions are;
- Fajr – around 5:00 AM
- Duhr – around 12:00PM
- Asr – around 3:15 PM
- Magrib – around 5:35 PM
- Isha.- around 7:00PM
